FAQ: Does constant voltage (CV) mode on the N6700 SMU modules mean that the SMU will change its load characteristics to always maintain CV mode?

CV mode means that the SMU module is in voltage priority mode - regulating the output voltage. It will do this until it hits the current limit. At that point it will go into Current Limit mode, not Constant Current mode.
